Unhappy Question for those of you whom had you're engine go bye bye

Yup just got the news one of my rotors is dead. @ 107K miles

Kinda weird actually, it was running fine. Stopped at the store and when I was ready to leave and tried to start it I sounded like crap (once). Then it wouldn't start anymore. Took it to the mechanic and he told me the news. After a compression test. Has this ever happened to any of you guys/gals?

Looks like I'll be taking the ghia to sevenstock DAMN I was just about to purchase some rims

On the bright side, a streetport with all of the bolt on goodies are coming my way

sorry to hear. i'm at 101k so i'm waiting for my day to come too. i really want to get some wheels to to replace my polished stock ones but gotta save up for engine first, looks later. i'm surprised though, thought it would be more gradual process, rather than just one day not starting. i'm hoping mine will be a gradual death

Thanks,

Yeah that's what I thought. My buddy did tell me that once, when we were racing he could see that I blew out a little smoke when I changed gears. That was about 8 moths ago, I thought it was the turbos going bad. Other than there wasn't any other sign, the engine ran strong but had 8-6-8 boost patters due to a clogged pre-cat.
