I too am looking for the best selection in downpipe, and this is my concern...I really don't want a heavily modified FD, my 93 is all stock and super clean...all I have read says the downpipe is a definate reliability mod...but does it create the need for other mods down the road??

No other mods needed. However the ever-so-slight increase in power may feed your hunger down the road for my HP and more mods. lol

as far as reliability of the welds goes. . . a lot of cracking and the such can be taken care of by keeping the downpipe bracket on the car!!!! a lot of people take it off and are fine with it, but im here to say that it can and will cause damage. i had an xs to4e on my car. didnt put the bracket back on. got the car tuned. . . took it home. . . noticed a bit of performance loss when i got back home. then, one day i was turning a corner (not drifting around it. . . just normal turning) going home when. . . BAM. . . the exhaust got WAY loud!!! luckily i was on my way home. upon inspection, i found that the downpipe/turbo connection was jiggling around. the turbine exit flange (at the downpipe connection) had broken off!!! this is because of too much play in the exhaust. couple hundred dollars later (about 800 or so because i decided to upgrade it ), i put everything back together as well as the brace. im positive in my thinking that if i hadve had this on there before, the car wouldnt have gone down. . . again. . . geh.

now, the twin turbo flange is pretty suredly not going to break off. well, whats the next weakest area? thats right. . . the flange welds.

so, just a little precaution. keep the brace on there. it connects to the rear of the transmission and comes down to a loop that goes around the downpipe.

hope that helps SOMEONE.

Do you have pics of this? I asked a few reputable members about this, but few knew what it was. This hooks on to the end of the DP, correct?
