VA Question about a weird throttle issue...

OK this throttle issue is getting weirder. I ordered a new cable and it is on the way, but now I'm not sure that is the issue:

Symptom: When I shift the car at anything over 3,000 RPMs, now the RPMs actually JUMP up to like 4,000 RPMs, and continue to hover there even with the clutch in until I engage the next gear. Thre is about a 2 inch section of my throttle cable that is exposed so I was thinking that was why the throttle was sticking, but now it is actually jumping... Any thoughts ?

unscrew 2-3 threads on your dashpot ( it`s like a bulb with a 17mm but on the front side of the T/B , )
( FC T/B) but it looks the same, forget the arrow ,

Well I pulled the elbow, all is clear in the TB. I'll take a look at the dashpot today, I have never worked with that before, which way do I adjust it? Is it like a lock nut or will loosening the 17MM nut make the change needed?

you loosen the nut then you unscrew the " mushroom " a few threads making sure it still operates : Look at the white part protruding out of it , it acts as a " spring" .. actually it is a spring ... make sure that when the throttle is closed it it pressed inside somewhat
