Exclamation question about Pettit AST.

Hi all, I am relatively new but just humor me.
I bought a Pettit AST and it came with a stant 13lb. cap. Now I know that higher pressure is good for boiling point, but that sure is alot more than my stock cap. I know the stock (or recall cap) is low for the AST cracking problem, but I have a stock plastic radiator and don't want to split it or anything because my cap was too high.
Should I run it or get a lower lb. cap?
Thanks everyone.
Ryan

13 lbs is 0.9 bar, this is the proper cap (post-recall)
