Question about original FD interior color options

I have a 1994 FD Touring and I'm trying to figure out if my interior color scheme is is a stock option, or if the previous owner changed some things. It looks like he replaced the carpet at some point. My interior is all black with tan seats and tan carpet. Was this an original factory option?

Thanks,

Michael

There seem to be many different "levels of tan-ness" in FD interiors. It would not surprise me if that is how the interior was at the time of purchase.

Perhaps someone with the same scheme that knows (or reasonably assumes) that their car is stock could post to confirm it.

I am not 100% certain, but I think I recall a white FD (in SE Michigan, owned by a guy named "Jim") with black interior, tan seats, and a tan carpet.

It was my understanding that all 94+ RX-7s with the tan interior option had only tan carpet and seats and everything else was black.

All 94-95 cars with tan interiors had only tan seats and carpet. Everything else is black. Basic info that is contained in the FAQ thread....

94+ door panels went to black in all cars. Seats and rug are the only "color" option in the 94-95 cars.

Yep. Mine's 95 and its all black with tan seats and carpet. Changing that to all black. You should check out the carpet group buy. Leatherseats.com has got the deal on your seats too if you want em.

I was thinking of going to all black too, but I can't make up my mind. I agree that all black would look better on a white car. Mine is montego blue though, so it might be better to keep the the tan seats and carpet.

Yes, and that's true for the red interiors in '94 too, and IMO they looked better for it. It also appears the shade of red used in '94 was darker (and also better looking IMO) but I've never looked at a 93 and 94 side by side to be absolutely sure of it.
