question about cracked rear apex seal in rear housing

hi all,

just a little background on my car.

i've been beating on it for the last two yrs on track and off track. no probs at all. my mods are a full 3" exhaust from the turbo back, running a slightly modded PFC base map. car never missed a beat - cranked everytime, never flooded. it was a mazda reman with approx 30k miles on the block.

fast forward this past week, i brought my car into a shop to replace my turbos since friends and i had trouble with seized bolts (x2). at the same time, i decided to put on my CWR large SMIC & CAI while converting my lower mileage set of turbos to nonsequential. the process that was done to make them nonsequential only included the modification of the flapper door, with no modifications to the vac lines.

after, on my PFC, i had turned my sequential ctrl off, however around 4500 @ WOT the car bucked really violently, so i had to let off.. decided to turn sequential back on and i never saw that prob again. i was only seeing 5psi full boost. no big deal, i could have got that sorted out by the builder when the weekend was over.

on my PFC, i had turned my sequential ctrl off, however around 4500 @ WOT the car bucked really violently, so i had to let off.. decided to turn sequential back on and it was running great.

however, next day, with my car seeming to run strong @ psi, i took it for a boot on the hwy.. and well, that's when it happened. first symptom was a lack of ability to build ANY boost in 5th gear.. the needle was oscillating @ 1psi when i was high 3k RPM.. :/

downshift to 3rd & 4th.. boost fine.. still @ 5psi.. HOWEVEr, then it happened, booost was REALLY rough upper end of the RPM range so it got me worried. let off, got back into the city and car was idling @ 500rpm with 8" vac at the lights..

now, before you all call me a stupid ***, is that base map sufficient for those mods? i've heard of ppl running the same mods as me on a base map with no problems. my car ran with no problems prior and was actually running a bit rich anyhow (on track, people noted i would be shooting flames out the back). so if it isnt, please go ahead and call me a stupid ***

i'm not implying it's the builders fault because i have no grounds to believe so, but he did mention it could have been my PFC?

anyhow, any advice/comments would be appreciated. my car is in the shop to get fixed.. so.. yeah. SOL.

full exhaust, intake and intercooler is a bit much for base map. But, you were only running 5 psi? sounds like your turbo control system was fubared. your post isnt too clear---one section is repeated, and in case you forget the # in front of 'psi.' Perhaps elaborate a bit ?

oh.. sorry! i meant to type 5psi.

i only 5 psi 99% of the time. isaw 7 psi for maybe a second or two.

would running nonseq change my a/f a lot?

my turbos would NOT boost over 5psi.

btw, any idea why the car would buck @ 4500rpm when the pfc was set @ nonsequential?
