Question on '99 spec turbo install?

I noticed the turbos have built in pills on the nipples. Do you need to drill the wastegate control out if using a boost controller? Is so, what is the best way without getting metal shavings where they don'e belong?

pretty sure you would only need to drill them out if you wanted less than stock boost. just based on how a boost controller works, ive never seen 99spec personally though

That makes sense. I always turn the controller when I leave it with someone else. Kind of a valet feature, just in case. I guess when I turn it off now it'll boost 10 psi not the 7 like my old turbos.
