I love reading these threads with FD's at the track.

 

He was trying to dig out of that corner hard I bet. A bunch of powerful cars about to run him down.

Scrub's car look a lot like the Scoot 4-rotor, I think. Coincidence or bad eyesight?

You cant deny the wheels, hood, bumper cover, and color are similar.

 

Scoot's 4 rotor... wow what kit is that? looks neat! i dont think i have seen it before..

 

For some crazy reason, I think that the Scoot car........... has a Scoot kit

 

Actually, it's the Tamon Design kit... Scoot just uses the stock light shape instead of the Tamon lights

But enough about the Scoot car, that thing's a piece of crap next to DannyMac & Dr. Rich's rides!

 

Nothing like a $30k body kit. Makes the fortune kit look like a turd.

 

BTW, how long do a set of Neovas last at track days? (or, how many track days and street miles do they last)

 

I'm not sure who organized it to be honest, Rich signed me up. Fabspeed sponsored the event that's all I know.

If by similar you mean they're both Rx-7's, then yes they are haha. Scoot does make a front bumper, which is what the Tamon design kit is based off. Also the Scoot car runs a Scoot hood..

Rich looked like a blast! After our phone conversation awhile back, I contemplated saying **** it and going. Then I found out I had to take my mom to the airport that day and on top of it, I got sick :/ Next time I hope!

i don't know why, given the shots of the 911s, Goodfella's Rx-7, the R8 and that R35, but this is probably my favorite shot of the thread so far. awesome!

lol, watch the video....there's a bit of fire there....If I had moved up the track a bit where he was breaking I probably would have caught some. Give me some credit I was trying to do photography and attend the track day haha

Hard to say. Last year I did three track days, with maybe 5000 street miles and my AD08s has over 1/2 tread left.

Don, your FD is perfectly setup for this kinda stuff.... would love to have you out there with us

Looks like a great season start for you guys. Ive seen a few people "apon out" in that same spot at thunderbolt

Btw guys, I didn't post this before..... but my new OS Giken-stuffed stock trans was giving me issues from the get-go.

Second session, as soon as the trans got hot--- imagine, you're flying down a short straight in 3rd gear, right foot to the floor, staying on line and anticipating the braking zone, some Porsche track car on your tail....... and at about 6000 rpm, you hear a faint 'pop,' and you're bouncing off the rev limiter. Yup, the shifter just moved into neutral. On a track like Thunderbolt at NJMSP, you kinda need 3rd gear, and in a rotary, you need all of it.

Anyway, I still managed to drive around it, short shifting at 5500 and using 4th gear more than i wanted to. Still laid a hurting down on 95% of the cars out there

The trans came out the day after the event, and the day after that it was at the trans shop to be torn down. It's possible I provided an inop trans, as it was a spare we had sitting on the shelf from the Gotham days.
