Hey Guys I got three of them installed, Water temp, Boost and Oil Press, They look great everything seems to be working 100%. I will get some pics up asap (I am at work right now).

Hey Ryan thanks for all your help and dealing with me and all my questions/brainstoming LOL
Do you guys have any plans on adding a Oil press gauge that goes to 150? (the 7 pegs the gauge when cold) or do I have anything to worry about with the gauge being pegged, will anything fatigue sender ect?

Oh and I will be getting the center speaker mount soon, i will let you guys know how it goes.

You get what you pay for, no surprise!!! I have seen these gauges in person and initially they look nice from a far and that's the extent of their product (from a far). Taiwan Made quality still not quite there yet.

Will do, as Ryan says the pod can be moved to face us RHD people! I should have one here soon and I will let you know from there. The three gauges I put in so far are in a DIN panel I think it was from Glow Shift (I wanted the 3 stepped version) All I did so it would face the right side was flip it over and it works great and looks great. I will add some pics tonight.

Yep.. That happens with the oil pressure gauge only reading to 100..
I thought there was something wrong till I found out that the FD's oil pressure is higher than 100 when under load. When at idle, the Prosport gauge is right where it's suppose to be...

Hey buy what you want but any review should be taken with a grain of salt.

I bought a gauge from a company out of Taiwan that isn't even sold state side.

Nice to see a representative of the company on the boards.
Add to that the others that have posted in this thread and I think you are in for trouble. But as you said, to each his own. I do hope it works out for you.

I've got a pair that are a couple years old, they're the peak/hold/warning style. The water temp gauge has been working perfectly (and has been accurate as far as I've ever tested). My boost gauge on the other hand almost never sets to 0, it's always slightly below. And every once in a while for some reason it resets in the middle of driving and wherever the needle was at that time now becomes 0, for example, if i was under boost at about 4psi, the vehicle will start reading vacuum at that point, and when turned off it'll read 4psi, under boost it'll read 14psi (which is actually 10psi). It'll behave like that until I power it off completely and let it sit for a while and come back. I've tried rewiring the sensor, relocating it, all kinds of different things and it still does that. If I could figure out why it doesn't 'zero' properly or fix it from zeroing while driving at a random reading I'd be pretty happy with them. It doesn't even do the usual behavior like they do when powering on (sweeping/beeping), it just starts reading from that random position.

These appear to be rebranded all over the world. Here in NZ they are primarily sold as Autogauge, but we also have a few other brands that stick their logo onto it.

I have this one:
http://www.autogauge.com.tw/web/prod...tegorySubID=70

while the pic only shows the white backlight variation, there are about 5 other models that have various colours (one even allows you to choose from 7 different colours).

Compare that to:
http://prosportgauges.com/images/view.aspx?productId=87

so its pretty clear they are the same.

So my point is, the Autogauge brand has been around in NZ for a long time, and while its known as the cheap and nasty option, it does actually work, and is relatively accurate. They don't look half bad for their price too, but certainly aren't in the same league as DEFI.

My water temp gauge was pretty inaccurate, and the electric boost gauges are notoriously inaccurate and super slow to respond.

For my FD this time around I went with AEM's new Analog series of gauges, super high quality and very accurate. They aren't much more than ProSport's, either.
Bad review but he said Old project car and doesn't say what year.

If we look at this thread there are 3 good reviews, 1 bad review that he refers to his old car (not sure what year), and 2 personal opinions from people who have not used the gauges.

You forgot about me! I'm +1 good, +1 bad (possibly boost sensor?, but it's done it ever since I've owned the vehicle, and the gauges were less than a month old at that time) I guess, though semi-old.

Prosports are junk.....We used to sell them....had NUMBERS of issues.....we wont even sell the one we have left in stock...

I can count atleast 3 bad oil pressure sensors, 1 bad boost sensor, and 2 bad EGT sensors that were bad coming out of the box....and thats off the top of my head

Spend the money and get something worth while

What were the symptoms of the bad boost sensor? I've been trying to diagnose my issue for a while, was about to just replace the whole gauge, but I hate to replace the coolant one with it since it works fine... and non-matching gauges look bad usually.

Hey Guys umm I would like to point out that this thread (yeah the one I started) was not about "i guess i should have bought DEFI gauges" or any other variation of different brand of gauges. IF I have any problems with them I will post and let all of you who have issues with Prosport say I told you so.
I have been in retail for 10-12 years be it selling Car audio or alarms or selling TV's to auto parts. I can honestly count on one hand how many company reps that are as helpful as the guys at Prosport and are also willing to STAND up and say "Yeah there was some issues with "xxx" product we listened to you the customer and implemented a fix.

Now do not get me wrong I appreciate all the input be it good or bad and I would like for everyone to chime in but please keep it constructive. (ie no "They suck" with no reason for your opinion ect) so far we have been on the right path

Now to get back to what this thread was supposed to be about.

Like I have said the gauges are in and look great! (maybe I have cheap taste or insert what ever funny *** line you want) but I honestly like the look of these gauges. Now I have only had them in the car for a few days and I have yet to put any miles on them so as I find out more I will post and inform.

Thank you everyone
Mike

ProSport has great customer service but their gauges were pretty crappy when I bought them in 2007. I bought their top of the line ones and they were very cheap. I havent seen their revised gauges personally or know anyone with them so I can't say if theyre better or not but I don't think I'll buy any anytime soon.

Their customer service reps were helpful and replied to all their emails very fast. Too bad other companies arent always this helpful.

^ Didnt the OP just point out that this is not a "I shoulda bought Defi" thread. Any EXPERIENCE with prosports good or bad should be posted.

EVERYONE knows Defi is the best. End of story. For those of us on budgets, basic gauges such as water temp, boost, and fuel pressure cover items that Mazda didnt without breaking the bank.
Everyone's recommendation on this forum is almost always to buy the top dollar item. That's easy to do in cyberspace where there's no financial responsibility. This forum serioously needs a "Best Bang for the Buck" thread
I'm curious to see if the OP's experience stays positive.

I would get VDO gauges instead. VDO makes the gauges for Porsche, Lamborghini, BMW and more. Their gauges arent very flashy but theyre cheap and reliable. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone complaining about VDO gauges before. Theyve been around for ages as well. I'd buy these over ProSport if I were on a budget.

If you're set on ProSport, I'd say these gauges will work fine if you're not looking for 100% accuracy but need something more accurate than the stock gauges. ProSport wont break the bank and they dont look that bad.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that makes for healthy competition. Since 2007 we have made changes to our gauges and senders. The Stepper Motor movements in our premium series comes from Switzerland, our boost sender IC's come from motorolla (USA). and temp senders has also been ugraded. We worked side by side with Bosch to develope our wideband AFR gauges using their latest O2 sensor with the widest range on the planet. So, alot has changed over the years.
We are here on the boards to help with tech advise and support of our customers and vendors. Feedback (good or bad) is always important to us. Their is no better place to get honest opinions than on the forums.

I bought them back in 2007 and never had an issue from day 1. You can spend $400 on Prosports or $1200 on Defis....it was a no brainer for me this go round. I did have a full set of Defi back in 05 and loved them too as they matched the stock lights perfectly.

I just ordered another full set of ProSports 2 weeks ago for my current buils.
