Nice post, I'm going through the same thing right now. However I took a different route, 'cause I'm not in any hurry here (see location to left LOL). Anyway I am stripping the engine first so I can clean and evaluate everything on the engine, before I pull it and have it rebuilt (or swap for reman). Here's what mine looks like right now

ahhh, I remember pulling my motor last summer. I let Rob @ Pineapple Racing build the motor though, great guys out that way! It was my first time doing a motor job solo, it was probably one of the best times I have ever had now that I look back at it. At the time though it was quite frustrating....But when the time comes again, which we all know it eventually will, I wont hesitate to do it again.
