Profec B Poll
I have been spending a lot of time making sure before I lay down my money - it's precious stuff you know.
So, I think I have one final question before buying a profec b.
For the price (as compared to other units available), are you happy with the purchase, or if you had it to do again would you buy something else.
My mods are slight, and for a while I thought I had boost creep. I read (here in other threads) that a controller like the Profec could not do much for creep.
But after getting a few more opinions and reading a few more threads it seems I do not have creep, but spike - and the profec will control that.
So, I'd appreciate if ONLY those who have a similarly modified car (Downpipe Only) and ONLY those who have owned a Profec would answer.
BTW, The best price I have found so far is $310.00 for a Black Unit, anyone know anyone selling for a better price?

I have been using a Profec B for 5 months with a downpipe and cat-back. Will be controlling a PFS intake/SMIC as well after this weekend.
So far, it works well. It's very simple to use. These instructions assume you're still on stock ecu.
1)Turn the lo boost almost all the way down.
2)Turn the hi boost all the way down and leave it there. FYI, the hi boost is 3 psi higher than the lo boost **** at the same setting.
3)drive -- do a long 3rd or 4th gear pull (uphill is good for full loading) while a passenger tweaks the balance control. It should be turned towards "sharp" until the boost starts wavering, then back off slightly.
4)Turn up the lo boost SLOWLY during another long 3rd or 4th gear pull and adjust it to reach 10 psi.
5)You're done. Hopefully you haven't got a speeding ticket while tuning.
Obviously you can do the tuning by yourself but it takes longer. If you have a passenger tune it while you drive, it shouldn't take more than a few pulls to get it set. Very easy.

Yes, any boost controller will. Boost controller cannot, however, help with boost creep. Creep is when the there is too much flow for the wastegate to divert and you cannot reduce your boost below a certain point. This can happen on FDs with a full exhaust and intake. The only way to cure boost creep is to introduce an air flow restriction in the system or to port the wastegate.
