dude your car is fine! if that was the worst of my problems it would be a good day. the factory set rev for idle is like 600-800rpms depending on your cars personality. youre fine. go play.

you may have a leaky vacuum line or broken one. and thats no big. shell hold til you find it. grab your rmanual. grab some rubber hoses. start checking.

I advise you to not go to him anymore. Your engine only has two rotors, so if two of them are having a problem you would have a major problem. I wonder how many rotors he thinks the car has in total?

There are many reasons for bad idle - TPS is out of adjustment, idle air bleed screw needs adjusting, or a leak on the intake path. While none of them are mechnically 'bad', they are good to fix. The only one I'd be unhappy about is if you find the leak is in the lower intake manifold gasket, which takes hours of labor to replace.

Maybe he meant two rotor faces? That, of course, would mean one bad apex seal.

....in which case, it would be a reasonable diagnosis IF HE DID A COMPRESSION TEST to arrive at that conclusion.

Good point - that point may have been lost in translation or something.

Compression results are what you need.
