Problems with my Profec B

Hey guys,
I have had a Profec B installed on my car for quite sometime. I have recently had problems with it. I CANNOT get more than 7psi out of the first turbo. After 4500rpm when the second turbo comes on line, I get FULL boost and I can raise/lower boost while I am driving, and it holds exactly what I set it to all the way up to redline. I have given it a couple of quick visual inspections but I haven't had any luck yet. I think that I am going to remove it and then reinstall, so that I know everything is hooke up correctly.

If anyone has any ideas, I am open for suggestions.

thanks in advance,

i had that problem (7psi max) and it turned out the power wire to the black stepper box had come loose. It didn't occur to me at first, cause the actual control box in the car (hi/low) was lit and had power to it.

check your wires to the stepper

good luck

I appreciate the advice silver93. I checked it out and the power is there.

Wouldn't that make it only run 7lbs. of boost no matter what. Since you are running on the WG spring. I can only get 7lbs. of boost out of my first turbo, I can get whatever boost I want once the second turbo kicks in.

I am going to unhook the Profec B and put in a Needle Valve and see what kind of luck I have. If it works right then I know I have something wrong with my Profec, if the problem still exists then I have something else entirely on my hands.

I would still appreciate any advice.

I know that I am not the only one using the Profec B on a third gen. Ever since I have installed this boost controller, I have never been able to hit more than 12lbs. on the first turbo and then whatever I want on the second one. Am I the only one that experiences this problem?

gimme feedback
