Problem starting

I have a problem starting my car. Sometimes when I try to start my car I jsut get a click type of sound. Then I turn the key back, wait a second, then it starts up fine. Also sometimes When I try to start the car I get a click, then before I can turn the key back it starts up.

This doesn't happen very often, maybe once every 2-3 weeks.

Any idea what it could be?

I the same exact problem several years ago. No one could figure it out. I am not sure exactly what my mechanic did to fix it, but they had to do something like re-ground the whole wiring system?? Not a problem since.

i kinda had a problem like that on my 10th ann. i used a relay to fix it. something about current drop from up the column to the swith, then down to the starter. pull the wire off the starter solonoid and extend it to run back into the car. use it as the trigger for the relay and then run a new wire back to the starter. that way it will use the relay for a honest 12v to engage the starter. if that's what's wrong, this will fix it. good luck.
