Problem with my seven need help
Ok here is the problem the seven sat for a month till I came back from vacation and today I went and started the car it started beautifully. So I let the seven warm up and when it warmed up I revved it up slowly all the way till it hesitated at five thousand rpm so I let off and try it again and did the same then I went and revved it harder and this time it did hesitate a little but it still went all the way to seven thousand rpm and when I let off it back fired, did it again several times and it back fired all those times again. What do you guys think is wrong with my seven? Is it bad? Thanks guys

So, you're just sitting in the driveway revving the motor? I wouldn't sweat it. Drive the car and see if you have problems.
Well, looking at your location, that might not be an option - I bet it's mighty cold up there!

Did you put it away wet as they say? Was it sitting outside? Any number of things could have been in contact with moisture, condensation etc. Valves, actuators. It could also be as simple as a vaccum line that is off.

I think you're worrying for nothing.
Maybe car was running a bit rich + colder air temps = back fire
That happens to me now.
Even after 5 minutes of warming up the car, when im getting out of the driveway and im blipping the throttle, i get those vroooooommm, pop pop.....
Only does that in the initial 10 minutes of car being on and only in the winter time. After couple of minutes of driving, it doesnt do that.
I dont see anything wrong.
Go drive the car around and do it again, i bet it stops.

Just curious are you running stock exhaust or modified? No mention of your mods in this and these cars typically backfire with opsn exhaust and usually acompanied by flames (unburned fuel in exhaust) I run DP,res. MP and RB cat back and with light load shift between gears in 3 to 4k range it will back fire just about eveytime. This has happened a few times while reving in the driveway so other than theslight hesitation sounds normal. How old are the plugs ?

Well I took her out today and didn’t push her at all. What I caned of thought was that maybe the PCM had to relearn fuel and recalibrate all the other sensors so didn’t push her since it at for a month. So I drove for a while like that and the car drove fine at cruising speeds so then I stopped to pump fresh premium 93 octane gas and then I started to push the young seven and I don’t know what did it but got hove revved it all the way to seven thousand rpm and had no problem what to ever so hopefully its not one of those things that happen only sometimes so will see what happens. Thanks guys
