Sounds like a faulty sensor or wiring. Maybe you blew something, did you do some cool down driving before you parked it? Did you let things get circulated before you started driving fast again. mods?? need more info and then someone else more intelligent than me can chime in.

Throw it away. (Well, really, sell it) It serves no use in these cars.

I suggest checking the MAP and TPS like the others mentioned, and also change your fuel filter.

The shop's had it for 2 WEEKS? Eeesh. Get it out of there and either find somewhere else, find a few local RX-7 guys, or do a search here and at least check the MAP sensor, TPS, and ecu codes for yourself.

Just in case you don't know, the MAP sensor is labeled "Boost Sensor." It's located by the brake booster. (driver side)

Why has nobody suggested CEL? It could be LIMP.

Pull the engine codes. It could be limp mode.

My car is under the same thing. I have CEL 40 and 71 which for some reason do not show up on the dash light.

I'm guessing the TPS isn't aligned correctly or they forgot to plug something in or did something wrong. Does the CEL come on? Pull codes.
