Question primary injectors removal

how do you get the injectors out of the rail. do i just wiggle and pull untill they come out? i thought id asked before i broke something.

also on all my metal gaskets (uim, air control valve, etc..), the black covering is flaking off. just wondering if i should go ahead and peel all of it off so they would be smooth or if their still good?
some quick advise would be good, my car has been down for 2 months now.
thanks

wiggle and pull and they pop right out

replace the gaskets while you got it appart..easier that way

Just take to old gasket off and scrape off all the pieces that get stuck. I think all the black stuff you are talking about are carbon build up. Brake cleaner and a rag should take it off.

The black stuff is a rubber seal, not carbon. If it is flaking off you really should replace the gasket to ensure a good airtite seal when you reinstall the gasket. Or you could just get a block off plate kit and use those with hi temp silicon and forget it.
