Pricey, but nice - real rotary engine compression tester

Check it out -

VERY similar to the Mazda digital compression tester, gives you numbers for each combustion face. I'd love to have one, but the price is still a bit high, even though it's cheaper than the Mazda tool.

It's $890 or so, BTW.

Yah, that's *another* FD toy that will remain out of my budget for a long time.

Good Find Dale, Thanks

But yes it is a touch expensive. I do like how you can hook it up to your computer and print out a graph just like Mazda's. I like how it will show you the cranking RPM, that is very helpful information which you don't get with a normal compression tester. Although I have become very proficient the normal compression tester.

I'll have to see if I can get three or four people around my area with rotaries to go in on it and share (yeah right, that will be the day). But that will make it more feasible to purchase at that point.

Thanks

Nice but why pay that much, when you can build one for less than $100 bucks?

I built mine for about $50

Here is a pic of what the results are

This is one of those situations were we need a $200 DIY megaquirt version of the Mazda compression tester.

I've seen this set-up in person - not hooked to a car and functioning, but the info running on his laptop as shown in the pic. Very simple and creative set-up.
