pressure regulator solenoid & vacuum lines
Today I decided to complete the simple sequential mod. I've been following the diagrams here: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/vacuum-diagrams-stock-simplified-sequential-non-sequential-single-turbo-749702/ , specifically #4.
When I started removing lines, I noticed the pressure regulator solenoid was already byassed. This confused me a little, because in the referenced thread it says:
Looking at my car, it looks like I've still got the factory regulator, not an aftermarket unit (correct me if I'm wrong). The solenoid was already bypassed and th fpr connected directly to the LIM. I just want to make sure this is OK to be doing if still using the stock FPR.

Thank you

A few changes can be made here to further simplify this. Running aftermarket FPR? ( You can remove the baby blue line and solenoid going to the stock FPR and run it straight from the LIM to the nipple on the aftermarket FPR )

The FPR solenoid is a hot start solenoid. It's common on cars of that era with an FD style of fuel injection (sequential multipoint injection). What it does is cut the vacuum to the fuel pressure regulator in the event of a very hot start so that fuel pressure will increase. Its control is based on the fuel temperature sensor signal. It is supposed to prevent vapor lock or rough idle.
In practical use however it rarely engages and bypassing it doesn't have much of an effect for a lot of people.
