PP exhausts
So, I now that I know my car's adaptor plate works, I'm looking to spend some money and time on my exhaust.
I've always wanted to do a true duel exhaust on a PP, but I don't know how that would sound. I'd like to run my exhaust to two RB pre-silencers and then to two separate cans. 2" piping all the way back on both of the exhausts.
I'm really going for a good sound here; not performance (less than 110db).
What do yall run in your PPs? I know lots of people with FD's run turbo's but I don't know which part of the forum to post this in. Am I going in the right direction as far as piping diameter?
Has anyone ever heard a true duel rotary? any good?

Peripheral Port.

Its not very common in the FD world, but most FD owners are former SA,FB,FC owners. I figure there would be some knowledge here. IDK like I wrote, I don't know of a PP specific forum subcategory.
I know the RB exhausts are almost true duel, but they cross over in the rear canister. It might sound terrible like two single rotors idling next to one another.
If you can't find any decent NA exhaust information here there will definitely be old tech technology or technology section threads on Ausrotary forum. Improved production racing was a big deal here and 1st gen rx7s, rx3s and the occasional 4 were popular choices for a long time.
Sounds like you are on the right track anyway.

Scavaging is important if you converge exhaust pulses. On the contrary... If I was smart (I'm not) I could math the **** out of the speed of sound in the exhaust and make a resonating chamber for each individual pipe.

I guess I'm just gonna make something and see how it goes.

that is what i had planned for mine. the RB header is ~32", and then they sell pipe in um; some length i don't recall. if i buy 3, then and cut one in half, and clamp that mess together. i'd get like 90", 50" and then i can put the collector right on the header.
and just see what it likes.
Mazda had had some info over the years, basically the Rx3 was just a dual, the SA/FB Rx7 was collected at 90" and the 4 rotors had something shorter, with an SAE paper that gives you some info, but not what they picked.

I bought the RB 180 pipe (thick walled stuff) to make my collector, but MAN O MAN that stuff isn't cheap. I ended up just using schedule 40 pipe to make the rest of the exhaust I have. I guess I'll just buy the prebent pipes that RB sells to make the whole exhaust.
Right now I'm collecting at about 20". It gets the exhaust gasses out the back of the car, but I'm not really fond of the sound.
I'm looking at doing NO collection at all.
I’ve got a Knight Sports twin downpipe, FEED twin high-flow cat, and FEED twin cat-back, but I’m still on the stock twins. So the setup basically goes: one exhaust port → two → back to one → then two → back to one → and finally two out the back. I was chasing sound with it too, but figured I’d share since it’s kind of a similar idea. Exhaust scavenging isn’t nearly as critical on a turbo car compared to N/A. I’d definitely like to hear how yours sounds once it’s done. Maybe an H pipe would help you out if you do a true dual exhaust. It was proven to help on a show called Engine Masters.

Wow that exhaust sounds crazy! :O
Currently it sounds OK. I guess, but the driving videos sound like garbage. IDK. I need more time behind the wheel, and I need to hear it from outside the car on a drive by to get a real feel for it.

or the original exhaust on the SA22 IMSA car was so loud, you could clearly hear them start it and warm it up, from across the track, during a race....
that one was 2 x 43mm pipes into a collector into a megaphone, its so loud that you almost can't hear it anymore
