You just proved my point. The steering forces are still there, it just doesn't take Popeye arms to turn the wheel when the p/s is installed.

ive not driven an fd without the ps. however before my fd i ran an 89 supercharged mr2 with no ps. my first impression of my fd was that the steering is a little numb...well my first impression was HOLY FRIGGEN HELL HOLD ON JASON HOLD ON!!!...but after i calmed down that was my thought.

perhaps the above yelling analogy is good...but its been common thought since i have had this car that the power assist leaves for a mushy feel of the road.

like sex with a condom.

I don't have any problems on tight auto cross courses without power steering. I however have done the full conversion and my car is fairly light.
