Power Steering Rack Removal Question

I need to pull the PS rack on one of my cars for an overhaul. I have a FSM and have followed all instructions except that I am unable to access the bolt that connects the high pressure hose to the top of the steering rack.

Too much stuff on top of rack to reach it from engine bay, and too many lines in the way to reach it from underneath.

Anyone have any tips or tricks they can pass along?

Thanks,

Richard

hey richard I had the same problem with the rack that i bought from you last year. I remember asking you this same question. And you said it was easy. Well what I had to do was remove the power steering pump and AC compresor.

Your right that I said ti was easy BUT in my parts car, the engine was removed when I pulled it.

In the FD I am working on now, everything is still in the engine bay, so I am in the same boat as you.

The FSM does not indicate you have to remove the AC compressor or PS pump to remove the rack, but it sure does not seem plausible as shown in the FSM.

Thus the reason for my inquiry...
