Power steering pump replacement questions:

A couple of questions:

1. The pulley and shaft both came out of my old pump, so I'm having a tough time removing the pulley from the shaft to re-use on the new pump. Which way are the threads? Is it lefty-loosey to get it off or the other way?

2. Once I reinstall the new pump with the pulley and get the belt on, do I need to flush the power steering fluid system or just add new fluids and let it run? I heard someone mention something about air in the sytem being bad.

Thanks,

Ian

Right hand threads , left is loose . To get air out fill with fluid start motor, turn steering wheel full left then full right ,repeat repeat untill air is out .
