Power steering fluid leak.
Power steering fluid leak.
here is my problem, there is a slight leak from this hose. It is causing all the crud which is visible on everything around it. Its also getting fluid + crud on the spark plugs and everything on that side of the engine.

It is leaking from the left clamp in the picture. Ive tried tightening the clamp all the way and it still leaks. Is it possible to just put some type of sealant on it for now until I am home from college and have the tools/time to do a real fix. Also anyone know what part number that hose is? Anyone else have this problem?
Any help would be appreciated
Jason

mine leaked/leaks too. I just took the front hose clamp and moved it forward out of the grooves close to the end of the hose, then retightened really hard. it hasent really leaked since. (at least as of 2000 miles)

Engine Degreaser
Radiator Specialty
Engine Brite. For gasoline or diesel engines, farm and construction equipment, bicycles, industrial machinery. Quickly penetrates and liquifies grease and grime. 16 oz. aerosol.
it helps to get a sponge down their and actually wipe stuff once you have the degreaser on it
That's a low pressure power steering hose - the new part can't cost more than a few bucks and take all of 10 minutes to change. Fix the problem, don't look for a workaround. This is a VERY simple leak.
For cleaning, get some Castrol Super Clean, a scrub brush, and a hose. Douse the grime in Super Clean, scrub, hose off, repeat. You'll have a spotless engine bay in no time - that stuff is flat amazing.
