Power fc TWEAK is a game changer

The fc tweak doesn’t get enough press. Go get it asap if you have a power fc. Even if it’s tuned. Go get it. It’s a game changer. It’s cheap enough.

if you have one great. Let’s talk about how you go about auto-tuning / logging and your score.

I am at 82% tuned using the ALL auto tune after four runs. I took things slow. I didn’t go wot at all for these runs.

On my fifth run I started going WOT with 14/15psi of boost. On my first run I got 65% tuned, 2nd run was 82% and my third run was 82%. I was pretty bummed I didn’t improve between the second and third run. I want to get above 85% before i turn up the boost to 18psi.

I seem to always find myself in third gear when doing these logs. I do it mostly on the highway. Fourth going to redline gets pretty nutty. Not a fan of that.

are you guys doing much in first and second gear? What have you found to yield the best increases in tuning score? Whats your strategy?

I find myself lighting up the same row to red. It takes a lot runs to get a cell validated from green to red. I usually don’t drive the car this hard.

Are you guys auto tuning using the All function or just boost etc?

Any Tricks ?

Separately, what is the current thinking on power fc and knock? I am getting some in decel but nothing is audible. The car is running smooth as butter. Back in the day I thought I remember the power fc’s knock sensing wasn’t too accurate. Are readings of 1/2/3 common or is something up?

I did a handful of runs to get a higher score. Started no boost, cruising zones..then did higher rpm no.boost, then runs with some boost and full boost.

Each log I tried to do 20 minutes each. I believe my score is in the mid 90s. Have you tried to tweak your tuned map to see what it identifies? Using the tab button?

What’s up iceman. Been a long time. Nice to see you still around.

yes I tweaked the first map. It exposed over 200 issues. Xavier recommends tweaking the final map once I am in the 90s. I am at 88% when doing all. But only 82% on my low boost setting of 15psi. Have not got to 18psi yet.

I been beating on the car. I want to finish. I don’t drive it hard like this.

Interesting. I would check what tweaks it recommends. I would think that once some of those are corrected, the % would increase. I tweaked a lot of the injector, timing, etc and ignored the fuel corrections that identified as "too rich/lean". Then loaded that tweaked map, and ran through the auto tune again and yielded a higher score.

I was similar to iceman, but my only complaint was the multiple 20+ minute log session I did trying to get the map tunable as I kept getting errors from wideband, or voltage out of spec, etc.

Knowing what I know now, I'd run a short log, 5 minutes and check for issues instead of running full logs. Took me forever it seems like to get good clean data to run FC tweak with.

Once I got the car sorted nicely, then ran almost exactly like iceman stated and had a 90+ score after only a few logs.

Still have to re-tune things as I've changed my cat to a high flow and installed a Greddy SMIC now so I need to update my car settings and tweak again then run a couple of logs for checks and balances.

Next step is to get the DL-340XB and get that datalogit out of the car.

so if I already have a power FC, an FC Datalogit, and a laptop, all I need is the software?

Is there any use whatsoever for the hand controller, once power FC Tweak is installed?

I have the same and fc tweak. You have to turn your controller channels off while logging or it can mess with the data

Turn the commander back on when you are done logging.
