What does it say on the box? That pin arangment looks different. Pull out your stock ecu and compare it.

That one isn't compatible with our cars. Someone makes an adapter though, I forget where I saw it though. Maybe someone else will chime in.

version IV is 95-98. I had the same problem (albeit from a yahoo auctions seller) - seller's fault - and eventually got my money back.

no - only 12/95 onwards (16bit ecu - which was never used in an export car - not even the oz-spec, which was sold until 98).

yes but not a US model. I think the Roman Numeral marking was for UK car...I think.

One model number that I know will work for sure on 93-95 FD US model is

PFG FD3S 4 XXX-XXXX

no, the roman numeral is the standard for japanese versions

direct from apexi, these are the current numbers you should be looking for...

FD3S (????) 91/12?95/11 13B-REW 414AZ004 (set) 415-X001 (commander only) 415-A008 (boost control add-on)

FD3S (??) 95/12?98/12 13B-REW 414AZ005 415-X001 415-A008

FD3S (??) 99/1?00/9 13B-REW 414AZ006 415-X001 415-A008

anything else is a superceeded version, and is best avoided

sorry, the cut n' paste kanji isn't coming up

in the brackets should be

(I-III)
(IV)
(V)

we suspect that the V unit works with version VI cars - but I only have word of mouth to verify that. There is, however, a separate unit for 280ps cars.

nah, it's a 16bit connector - so it can be from anything from 95-02. If it's got IV on the box then it's not for a 99

afaik the 95 fd ecu connectors are completely different. refer to attached pic of 95 ecu. I was confused as to switch over from 92-94, 95, pin layout. A mate, also on this forum removed his 95 ecu for comparision sake and the connectors are completely different.

image00013 is 95 fd3s ecu
image1 is what i've got running on my car

Anyone know if the guts of a 16bit PFC are any different from the 8bit unit? I know the stock ecu in 16bit was substantially better, I wonder if Apex changed anything in their box for the later cars?

fd3s7007: I had a IV unit and it was identical to the one you have pictured (16bit). The other is clearly an 8bit connector, and from a pre-december 95 FD (ie: a version III)
