power antenna died

I believe the little plastic geared mast extender/retractor has broken, as when I got out of my car tonight I heard the motor running for a long time and saw the antenna was not going down.
Anyone have a parts list/schematic/part number for that unit?

Thanks!

You can get just the replacement mast from the dealer for some where between 28 and 35 bucks. Call Ray Crowe

Better to go with new in this case, kinda like the defroster vents as to getting brittle and breakage after aging.

Also its very easy to get to. Just take out some interior bits in the trunk and reach around a bit and you'll find it. Just one 10mm bolt that holds it upright and there are a couple electrical clips at the bottom. Also you'll have to unscrew the top part of the antenna mount to remove the antenna assembly, to do this get a pair of needle nose plyers, look at the top of your antenna (when it's all the way down) and you'll see the ring around the top of the antenna has 2 little notches in it. put the needle nose plyers in there and unscrew that ring counterclockwise. after you have unscrewed this piece you can remove the mount and the antenna can freely drop into the body where you pull it out.

The rear extendable antenna is used for AM reception only.

When mine went out the second time, I left it as is. Then when the car was repainted, it was removed and the hole filled in with metal.

FM reception is still as good because the FM antenna is in the rear window.
