Powdercoating the door scuff plates?

Has anyone tried powdercoating the door scuff plates? I was thinking of just having them polished or chromed, but I think they'll end up getting scratched anyways, which lead me to think that powdercoating is more durable.

Anything that will scratch or scuff metal will also harm powdercoat. PC is stronger than paint but can still scuff, scratch or chip.

Also powdercoat is significantly thicker than paint, it winds up being close to 0.5-1mm thick, so this makes fitment closer in a situation like this, inducing more rubbing.
