TX Potentially wanting a RX-7

I currently own a black 99 Cobra w/ 38,000 original miles, 10/10 inside and out. Steeda welded subframe connectors, sway bar, and welded flowmasters are the only mods. Shes a jewel and a fantastic car to drive, however the rx-7 has caught my interest and I'm deciding whether I should trade or sell her for one. Obviously this forum is biased just like any car forum :-p but would it be a good decision? I've heard a lot of them have major problems... is this really the case? iS there anything I should be aware of? Any pros and cons I should also be aware of by trading besides gaining handling and loosing torque? thanks

^ There is good information throughout, but particularly note the Advice for newbies and Buyers Guide links.
