Is it possible to use S4 housing in a FD.

Hey guys, i was wondering if its possible and feasible to use the S4 houings for a rebuild on my FD? I was told that it could be used, but i wanted to know if there would be a downside in using these. I cant seem to find any S6 or S5 housing around.

I searched the forum and got some info but i was still unsure. Thanks.

You can, but it isnt recommended. The spark plug location/timing is different. On a stock car or near stock you would likely never notice a difference. If you have a lot of tuning knowledge you could also get around it. Its really up to you and your plans for the car to decide if it is something you want to do, but yes it would technically work.

Thanks but the car is already modded to a single turbo with all the supporting mods. Im aiming for abot 400hp. I broke the engine on the dyno at 370hp. Since then I cant seem to find any S6 housings. The only ones im getting are some S4. I guess i should put the rebuild on hold until i get some S6 housings?

Probably, was the engine already weak to let go at 370hp? May want to look more into to tuning or more into whoever is tuning the car.

I think the engine gave out beacuse it was probally needed a rebuild anyway. There are some things that i think ill need to look at before i head back to the dyno (the tuner would be one). Again the builder says that the s4 housings would work, he would have to fill the holes but other than that it would work fine.

Did your tuner do a compression test 'before' getting on the dyno?
