is it possible to get a tacho signal from ignitor no coils atached ?

I have aem smart coils so dont use the external ignitor as they are built in
Am wondering can i use the old ignitor hooked up but with no coils atached to give a rpm signal ?

Or what other options to get rpm working

The OEM ignitor isn't responsible for sending the tacho signal to the dash in the first place, it comes from pin 2B on the stock ECU. The stock wiring diagram isn't very clear, but here's a simplified diagram:

Unless your wiring has been modified due to an aftermarket ECU that doesn't send a tacho signal to the dash, you shouldn't need to do anything to make the tacho work.
