The seats that i got with my FD, the cover was worn out too. (Last owner had a dog and from the looks of it it sat in the passenger side) So, I ordered leather seat covers from leatherseats.com and got them perforated down the middle with grey piping around the edge. Their perforated machine is down atm, so my order got delay T_T

I currently have the Sparco Milano Prestiges (same thing, just more adjustments and and a few other odds and ends) in my garage, and they will NOT fit! Although, if you was willing to, you could modify the door panels to make them fit. I still don't think you'd really be able to slide them back nor recline them far back at all. Also, you'd have to use bride, or another companys, brackets because Sparco does not make them for the FD. If you want to try to make them fit...mine are up for sale.

Yes, I just got my seats reupolstered by a local shop in a nice faux suede type material just like the original R1 seats. Looks great and is very grippy. Material and Labor came to $800 for both seats. Kinda expensive but much less than buying new or the factory skins.

Unfortunately not at this time. And I lent my digital camera to a girlfriend. When I get it back I'll post some.

It looks just like an R1 seat... just not faded at all. Nice and black.

I'm kinda of... well wide... ummm... big boned... aka big ***... so the factory seats are the only ones that work for me. Otherwise I might try some kind of racing seat. I'm wedged so tightly between the door and center console that it's like being in a racing seat for me anyway! I used to have the leather touring seats and got some R1 seats so that I wouldn't slide on them when I'm tracking the car. But they were really faded so I ended up getting them totally redone. Looks like a new seat.

Please post numerous detailed pics if possible, my R1 seats are worn out and I'd like to see how your seats came out.

so is $800 pretty much the going rate to have the seats redone? I SO need to do this. I think I'm going to go with black around the outsides with tan center or the other way around. I have the tan interior

If You are interested PM for pics.

I just ordered Corbeau A4 seats in black leather. You might want to look at them or the CR1 in leather. They fit and also have the seat rails for the FD.

Thanks for the offer but its really a temporary solution. The leather quality on the stock seats is the issue. I really hope a local upholstery shop can work their magic.

Ok well I been looking at alternatives for racing seats and I am blown away by the Sparco S-Light seats. They have a major price tag of $2900/ea but they look perfect.

Will these fit the FD?

Actually, I replaced my cloth seats with leathers from another '93 last year, so now my cloth seats are in storage.

The only prob was the driver bolster needed to be repaired. It developed a small hole the size of a quarter where the seat belt rubs.

Other than that, they are perfect.

Would you be interested?

If so, I will get them and take some pix.

My gut says that if it fits in a teeny, tiny Miata, it will fit in an FD. But I can't say for sure.

Actually the Miata has a little bit more space for a seat than the FD. I know since I had both.

anyone have pictures of those in a FD. Prefferably the white seats in a white FD, or whatever.

I have seen them in person in RP's showroom numerous times over the years. They look much better in person, trust me. That photo does them no justice.

Rich, I'll take your word for it, but I've always thought those seats are incredibly butt
