But its the whole inevitable (as the seven lowers in value) transition to "rice" owners...sevens used to be owned by engineers (like me) and technically oriented people more concerned about enabling the full potential aesthetic or not of the RX7...innovators like Wyum, Labrec, Cooper etc and when I read the forum...EVERY f---ing day there either a BOV thread or a new BOV thread...just depressing thats all...more ricers proliferating this great forum...with lame *** BOV and NAAAAWS threads.

Worse yet, most of the new genre of seven owners dont have the money to really take care of the seven (witnessed by the amount of rip-off artists selling junk on the forum)...champange life on a beer budget type of thing...and I think the BOV threads reminds the "true" seven enthusiasts of the seven's transition to normalcy...commonality.

And to the thread starter...seriously, have you read the hundreds of BOV post and tens of threads on this very same subject?
At the risk of hijacking this thread, here it goes...

I wasn't happy with your comments, but you really didn't make a personal attack at the thread starter so my comments weren't really directed at you.

I agree that the price of the FD puts it into an "affordable" range for people who probably won't be able to maintain the car (or drive it responsibly). However, no matter how much soapbox preaching we do, that's not going to change. We can't dictate who can purchase the car and who can't. This isn't some elite club. It's just a freaking car...

Personally, I don't see any difference in BOV threads to threads about people wanting to put racing seats in their FD (knowing it will never see a day on a track), or aftermarket shift *****, more than 3 aftermarket gauges, 18" rims, or anything else. It's personalization. People making the car "theirs". I still never understood why people care what someone else does to their own car....

This forum exist to help people enhance and repair their rotary power vehicles. Repair is pretty straight forward, however "enchance" can mean many different things to different people. Most people don't slap a '99 spec front end on their cars for "performance".

People can and should "enhance" their cars anyway they want to. It's their money. Most people are happy with the performance of the car as stock, and why shouldn't they be? It's not everyone's goal to make it go faster. Most of the time, it's better that they don't go jacking with the car....

As far as "rice"... I think people should quit judging other people and live their own lives...

You're right it is not an elite club per se...most seven owners admire the "uniqueness" of the 7 not but not necessarily elitist at all...

For example...I own two whippets (breed of dogs) pure bred...expensive and very difficult to even purchase because the breeders want to control the integrity of the breed so they dont become an inbred holocaust like the Dalmations...

Similarly, it is a well established medical fact that "ricers" are the result of human inbreeding. Consequently, it is necessary to mimimize the inexorable grasp of the rice breed...ever trying to control the world with APC stickers...still waiting for that day when I see an APC sticker and HID simlulated wiper fluid sprayers on a third gen...final evidence of the apocalypse....

So because breeders are selective and control the inetegrity of the breed, that makes it right? Interesting, if you replace that statement about dogs, and use humans, how does that make it sound?

The fact is the RX-7 is no Ferrari. When people purchase Ferrari's, do you think they know how to fix it? Hell no, but they can damn sure pay someone to do it. Unfortunately, the FD is not in that class you can't expect the same class of people to purchase it. Live with it, it's just not that serious to dwell upon.

I don't think asking a question about BOV is "rice". I don't have undercar neons or big fog lights or red leds or whatever, i don't understand that people can judge me and my car by a simple question... Look at my mods, you'll see that isn't rice?! I am young, so what, i won't put big wings and cut springs on it, people are always associating young drivers with ricers...

i like the chick in the pic on jadedx's name. as far as making the blow off valve louder.....take a 8 ft tube hook it to the blow off valve and run it inside the car, hooked to a headset right next to your ear.....then when u want somone in the car next to u to hear it, dangle it outside the window motion for them to roll their window down and point it as them. lol dont flame me, im just being goofy :-D *swishhhh blow off's are tight*
