Posessed Tachometer

My tach is busted any suggestions? It works for about a minute or two then slowly creeps to the 9 then bounces back and it starts all over again.
Started happening after a nice drive up the mountains.

Look at the wiring to see if something came un-soldered because this seems to be a common problem. If the wires are fine, I think you're gonna need to look into getting a new tach.

Rix7 thanks for the reply. I looked under the steering wheel and can't see to much, guess I will have to take apart the dash. I think I am going to replace all these weak *** guages.
