Polishing Tips?
Anyone have any tools that make it easier, I am about to get started but am not really looking forward to doing it by hand, there has to be some kind of tool to get in the corners...

GET a Eastwood catalog ,they are high cost but a good sourse. Harber frieght has a 8 inch buffer for$69 on sale . Granger sells wheels and supplies for a good price. My mechanics son has started polishing for hire. You will not last long doing it by hand. Hand sanding is hard on the fingers.

once you use sand paper to get to the little spots you need to use this compound called FLITZ it is in a little grey container with blue letters and you can usually find it in ACE hardwares or harley davidson shops mostly.

get a 1/4 hp motor and attatch a buffing wheel to it. Use some polishing rouge*? on the part you are polishing and keep applying it while pushing the part against the wheel firmly. I think it will be really hard to get in teh grooves but I guess take the advise of the obove forum members if they have done it already and it turned out nice.
I've seen a couple people that used dremels on their upper intake manifold and it turns out looking smooth and just a tad bit more shiney with swirls and scratches in it. By hand it will be impossible. I tried to polish my wheels by hand and after about an hour I was 10% done with one wheel so I stopped.
Basically it's going to suck and be a lot of work so make sure you are doing it right so that it pays off in the end.
GOOD LUCK!!

i've tried using using tools(dremel and sandpaper on a dremel mounted to a hand drill) to sand my parts but it just doesn't come out as good as it would if i did it with hand plus i think its harder done with tools because it keeps jerking away and stuff. i tried using my dremel but the sanding cones wear out fast. it took me around 3 hours to do whats visible of my throttle body if it was installed and another hour to polish with my dremel. i'm working on my uim now but getting lazy. i would also like to know if there are any other tools that'll make it easier but i don't mind finishing it off by hand. here's the website i used... http://www.rx7turboturbo.com/robrobinette/polish.htm
if u do get lazy i believe twinturboteddy's little sweat shop does an awesome job with polishing
