polishing door handles

i was reading a few old thread but no definate answer to the question, can i sand the stock black handles to polish the aluminum up?

Im sure you can as they are cast aluminum, but the handle will always be black composite plastic.

If they are that scratched up just paint them or better yet powder coat them

The door handles have a polished overlay, but here's an idea on how it might look:

no lock tumblers for *** holes to screw up all electric solenoids.

yes you can polish them

everything on my handles on 2 different fds has been aluminum not plastic. sand by hand with 100 grit at the lowest and make sure not to take off metal just paint then go for polishing

I was planning this also, although I think the actual handle levers are aluminum as well, I plan on clear coating mine afterwards though.

You have aluminum handles HUH?
Are you sure?
I have had three different sets all composite plastic from a 93, and 2 94s
What year car is yours?
i have never heard of aluminum grips but if there are that would solve the problem of those things seizing up and snapping the weak lever actuator arm when they get stiff.

1 93 and current and last 94

I polished the 93s but I didnt like it

I've seen a few handles of other cars snapped off and you can see feel and hear that its aluminum
