Plug Wires

i am currently chasing a logging laptop lock that occurs sporadically. i had a similar lockup a number of years ago when i briefly tried non resistor plugs. after switching back no lockup. a couple of years ago i had one incidence and then it has slowly become more often. last week at the Texas Mile it effected my OE tach. it seems like something is degrading. i have run Magnecor 8.5 plug wires for more than 10 years. i bumped into their website and after reading the Tech Section it was a no brainer. six months ago i noticed a small tear in one of the boots. i contacted them and they made me another and sent it to me gratis... in 4 days. wow, their customer service is as good as their product. regardless as to how nice they still look i am just going to swap in a new set.

which brings me to the reason for this post.... Magnecor had a couple of plug wire technical papers on their site which were front and center. they sold me. revisiting their site recently i found them buried in their catalog.

i think it would be a worthwhile expenditure of your time to give them a read. i am not selling them so this is just an FYI. turbo'd rotaries develop lots of combustion chamber pressure so plug wires are important.

https://magnecorusa.com/wp-content/u...05/catalog.pdf

start at page 40. "The Truth about Igntion Wire Conductors."

page 31 thru 37 cover the various wire options.

page 23 shows the pre-made FD set P/N 49287

if you run non-OE coils Magnecor will make a set to your custom lengths. that's what i run. i also really like their custom boots. you can stipulate any boot configuration. it all starts with reading their piece on plug wire tech.

My car probably has very little in common with your car. I’m only mildly modded and street driven. Plus, I have a small brain and don’t want to over-think plug wires so I stick with the stockers.

I make my own with the Accel universal kit. They are good enough for the 2000hp turbo engines I used to work on, good enough for my sub 500 hp rotary.
They are spiral low resistance, which I assume those are the same.
