Plug next to coolant filler neck

I'm about to install my coolant temp gauge. I looked at the install on the robinette site, however it's missing some info.

I need to know the size of the plug on the coolant fill neck. It's the one to the right of the coolant cap. I searched but came up with nothing. Someone help me out please!!!

Sorry, I'm not sure of the thread size , but IIRC, some have found that location interferes with getting the cap on and off. Also, I don't think you'll get a reading before the t-stat opens. Have you considered alternatives?

i'd recommend t-ing it into a line instead... throttle body line is the best i hear.

I just figured the filler neck would be the eaisest spot. I looked into the throttle body line tap too. Guess I'll do that one.

Thanks

This is off of a Second gen thread but I'm assuming this is basically what you would want to do..https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/water-temp-gage-hook-up-512268/ It shows you where to hook up the sensor..best to ya..

Yes, it does interfere with the cap, but if you cut off one of the 'wings' on the cap it works just fine. I'm not one of those 'polish everything in the engine bay' guys so having a hacked up coolant cap doesn't bother me. Personal preference.
