i always love the bandaid comment.

If that's the case, the engine should have come with bandaids from mazda. For every one post about water/meth/alc. inj, there are 100 posts about "i think my engine blew".

I use water/alc as insurance. Why? Because a crack in the silicone boost line to the profec kept the WG closed, caused an overboost, and blew the engine. So, if a $200-$400 set up can help prevent me spending $2000 and 40 hours to rebuild an engine because a $2 hose cracked and blew a $20 apex seal, then I'm all for it.

I have also heard of it causing rust on intake pipes, inside of the intake manifold, and rare cases of it rusting the insides of engines. Has anyone ran into such a problem?

thats bunk. . . people are talking from theory. there isnt too much of a way for this to happen since there is no stagnant air and there is way too much heat to allow the water to corrode anything. why doesnt the engine rust from getting water on it from the road?

Are you still running the anti detonation device?
Also didn't you have Steve retune your car?
