please help with this weeks problem...

all right guys, well....

just had my alternator rebuilt, supposedly, and the battery is farely new.
when my engine revs drop i can see my volts droping considerably to lower then 10.
most of the time, when slowing, its like somebody presses a button some where and the volts drop and all the dash lights turn on. if i keep it idling for ~10 min more the car will die.

this is bullshit, because i simply have done nothing else to the car when all this started. one day, it just decided to start dying, and now the alternator has not fixed it.

i cant drive my car up to the shop to them guestimate. what do i do???????

rajeev

How sure are you that the alternator is fixed? To me it sounds like a bad alternator.

i will re-hook everything, but as far as i can tell the connections are rigged, but still solid.
i suspect that this guy just took my $ and didnt rebuild anything. how can i verify the alternators performance?
oh, and just today another mechanic told me that my solenoids might be bad, can somebody elaborate with info on those please. i want to do all the work asap so i can drive my car once again.

thanks, rajeev
