Please help identify this wire!

Hey guys my car has no spark on the trailing coils so I replaced the coils, wires, plugs and still nothing. I have taken the wiring harness from the coils all the way to the starter off and look over every wire and dont see any burnt/melted wires. I found one brown wire with blue stripes that isn't connected to anything. It was near where the starter was. In the picture the wire on the right is a red and black wire that looked like it connected to the volt meter? The brown/blue wire connects to the grey connector on the drivers side near the fuse box. Anyways Im wondering if this is causing my problems. If anyone can help me find out what this wire is so I can know if this is my problem or what is it. Thanks alot in advance.

Okay, so the wire in question (brown w blue stripes) goes into the connector in the photograph? Which pin? What does the connector plug into exactly? What year car? I have factory '93 and '94 wiring diagrams that I'll look at tonite if you can give me more detail.

Edit:

I dug out my 1993 diagram, it appears that you have connector X-12, which links the front harness to the engine harness. Get back to me with pin position, or better yet, illustrate the pin position in the photograph, and I'll trace it futher. Let me know the year too...there were minor wiring changes from year to year.
