I just finished swapping out transmissions and now my reverse back up lights are on when the car is in neutral. I'm by myself so i cant figure out if it changes through gears....

Now my question is this. Can I assume 100% the problem is i mixed up sensors when transferring them to my other transmission? I only ask because this is the SECOND time i managed to do this. first time on my friends car, and now this time on mine. I was worried this would happen again so I took one sensor out of my old transmission and put it in the new transmission. one at a time to ensure it was in the same spot. I really dont think i goofed this up again but it is a possibility.

IS there other variables im not thinking of? is there differences in 93/94 transmissions? I really dont want to drop the tranny again as its a huge PITA to be on my back. can anyone verify this before i do something stupid like.......... cut the top of my trans tunnel for easier access......... hahaha (really contemplating this.)

 

Either the sensors are swapped or the connectors are swapped. Really, you should check this with the shop manual beforehand, but go through that to find where you crossed things up.

The PowerFC's sensor check screen will also show the status of the neutral switch, easy way to test that.
