Please forgive me, i have searched! FD Running issues

Long time no see!
I entered the s-body world for a while, and whilst it was fun, it wasnt a rotary!

I have searched, for a couple hours now, and read some posts with SIMILAR problems, however some deatails have been different.

Its been running absolutely spot on, i drove it to work this morning (2 miles - lazylad) and it was faultless.
This afternoon after work i came to start it and it took a little longer than usual wanging over, then it had a spark of life but instantly died.. After a few attempts i finally got it to start and idle of its own accord.

However, when it revs - if your careful with the throttle you can get between 3.5 - 4.5k in neutral, and up to 3k in 2nd/3rd gear. Anything past that on the throttle (just over a quarter i'd say) and it completely cuts and on releasing the throttle it BOOMs like a shotgun, or sometimes like a bee*R limiter.. I limped home, and by the time it got home it wouldnt idle on its own and the problem persists.

Im about to go out and have a sniff around in the dark, but thought posting this would help me alot more.

Car has exhaust, apex'i filter necks and filters, and sounds like re-circ blocked (like an sr20 pidgeon mod) so is basic. - I bought it this way on saturday

When i mention going past so far with the throttle, to guage for you guys its as soon as this moves -

The ring marked number one is whats triggered after 1/4 throttle i think, thats the only observation i could make at the time.
The ring marked number two is what obviously moves first and is fine until they move number one.

I hope you understand!

Cheers, Jay

Sounds like you're getting an extremely rich fuel mixture, have you checked to see if are flooding out at start?

It is very rich smelling, and by the fuel guage am using (just up the road and back) ALOT more than it should have.
It was a pest to start just then, but got there after 3/4 goes..

After taking it out just now, in 2nd i got to 4,200 rpm and it wouldnt go any further, and in 3rd i got about 3,500rpm i think it was.

****.

I'm assuming you do not have one but a PFC + Commander is invaluable in helping solve many idle issues in particular TPS Voltage.

I'd suggest a search in the 3rd gen forum for "High Idle Issues" and look for threads by Arghx and I believe there is another by Milano Maroon or something similar that has great info in it. Better than rehashing all the steps/items to check here.

Good luck!

Do yourself a favor and buy a $500 beater car for backup like I did.

Again sounds like you are getting to much fuel. Possibly a stuck injector but you really haven't done any trouble shooting steps so far. Check TPS voltage to see if it's working properly.

Ok, thanks! I've tried to do the ecu test, bridged the "TEN" and "GND" I think is was in the diagnostic black box thing.. Nothing happened, though i've not had a check light come up at all.

check the map sensor and fpr lines, both of those popping off can result in extra-rich conditions, poor idleing, and an increase in backfires.

Check compression and buy a $500 beater.

Map sensor pipe fell off, check the small black box behind the uim mounted to the bulkhead. Check both pipes are secure and both ends of those pipes are connected up.

I'll go and check them now thanks, Engine is still under warranty so all is good if a seal had gone but on turning over the compression seems good.

Just gone out to start it and its flooded. Great!

Check the MAP sensor. It may have come off. If you can hear good compression on startup then it's probably not a seal. If a seal goes it kindof plays a one note song when you turn it over.
