Nice car. Does anyone know where to get that "mazdaspeed" emblem on the rear of his car. I like it.

I'm a fan of both cars. I'd be interested to know how you think they compare.
Don't be afraid to say good things about the Lotus and bad things about the Mazda.

You can find them on ebay.

Nice nice car, congrats . I considered painting my FD that color, and I have considered trading my FM5s for the FM10s, so it is interesting to see what could have been.....

Well they are completly different as you already know. I like going to the track (VIR) and I love mountain driving.
The lotus is an amazing machine. Well the chasis is. Suspension dynamics and responiveness are out of this world. I have owned many jap sports cars from s2000 to evo ect and they cant compare to the lotus. It basically is a track car you can drive on the street...super hard core machine. Its no slouch either but IMO I hated that damn toyota engine. Sounded like ****, peaky ect.

In comparison well power hhahahah its no comparison. And to me the RX-7 is sexier and the sound of a turbo rotary is orgasmic. But as far as the suspension/handling compared to the lotus it feels like a big plush cadillac. Unconnected and just plain numb. But again this is compared to the lotus. To any other car the rx7 has amazing suspension.

I planned on taking the car out to some HPDE's and track days. But this car is far to nice to do that in. I would love to pick up a ratty FD and put a LS1 and beat the crap out of it at the track

Thanks for your comments. I'm tempted by the Lotus from time to time and may give in eventually. But the FD is the better car for a long drive so I've held back.
When I get too crazy and start thinking 3 cars again I remember I have a two car garage and how much I hate leaving something outside.

IMO opinion, it's the power steering that is the major cause of the numb feeling.
It's overboosted. In the 99+ cars they introduced a valve that reduces the steering assist. It's always surprised me that aftermarket suppliers didn't offer that here for a retrofit, but I've never heard that they have.

A friend on here with a FD said he saw a uncapped vacum nipple located under the intake mani. Im assuming its that, if not maybe TPS or bad air pump.
Oh man. Nice car but you have a few things to learn.

An un-capped vacuum nipple would probably not cause this condition. Not to mention that car has no emissions on it that I can see, so you will have a row of uncapped vacuum nipples that go through the LIM.

And you say bad air pump, but did you know that you don't have an air pump?

Either way, very nice car. Love the color.

Disconnect the tps and see what happens. The PFC doesn't really need it.

Also it's possible that it's the PFC itself.

Make sure the pins were removed on the back of the PFC or that the correct wires on the engine harness were cut.

It's possible it's a vacuum leak but normally on a single FD you can hear and find em pretty quick and the idle would usually just run high not bounce.

Nice FD but that color is not for me. If it's not a color I'd dare to wear than I certainly don't want to drive around in it all day hehe

That's one way to look at it... although, I DID have a pair of Levi's cords in that color in Jr. High School circa. 1982 or so.

... and since when do you wear silver or bright-*** yellow? :-)

LOL

I consider the silver just like a gray shirt. If it had some bright neon blue/purple mixed in I'd reconsider hehe

I love the SSM because no matter how dirty it is or how many dings scratches etc...it still looks decent. I think the metallic in silver is great at covering up the bad stuff without making the paint look too obnoxious.

The yellow cars saving grace is the gold flake. I've worn some yellow before like maybe once lol.

If this car didn't have a purple or ziploc box blue metallic color going on I wouldn't think it looked too bad although I haven't seen it in person but based on the pics it's a little much for me. I'm a old conservative ****** so my taste suck anyway.

It does have my favorite wheels on it though
