Pineapple engine primary injector inserts?

Putting an engine together for my brother and noticed when we went to put the primary fuel rail on there was an obstruction. Looks like pressed in inserts and I don't know enough about side fed to know whats going on. Do we need a different fuel rail? Is there a way to remove these? Other work around ideas?

Thanks

Those are used with aftermarket injectors.

If you are using stock injectors you need to remove them.

What injectors are you using so we can tell you if you need them or not?

We are using stock injectors, is there any special way to remove them? They seem to be in there pretty good.

try a 90* pick first and see if you can get under a lip to yank them out.

if that doesn't work then you can try using a straight pick and hammer under the outside edge to taco it and pull it out with some needlenose pliers.

You may also be able to use some sort of pliers that expand when you squeeze them (like for removing a snap ring) to get them out.

Also, because you are using stock injectors make sure the diffusers are there and are in good condition as some people remove them when installing the injector spacers. The diffusers help atomize the fuel at low engine speed.

the atomizers are also a seat for the bottom of the stock fuel rail to seal against.

Be careful..... any metal particles will go right down your intake runner.

I recommend removing the LIM and stuffing paper towel into the runner from the side. I hope twins aren't on that block

or find a plug that fits but won't drop past the lower ledge to fish it out afterward.
