I used a slide hammer (dent puller) and a brass (soft) pan head screw with the right threads for the hammer. I got the head of the screw past the bearing sleeve and pushed it against the bore then tapped it out on each side a little at a time. Didn't take more than 10 minutes or so to get it out.

The actual pilot bearing puller will yank the pilot bearing out no sweat. It's sick how well that tool works .
You're too far gone, but I typically just inspect the pilot bearing - if it's good, I replace the seal and re-grease it. I only totally replace it if it's necessary.

Weaken the shell with a drimmel tool or die grinder with a stone cutter then tap a small screwdriver between the shaft and bearing shell . Bend the shell up and remove ,pull out .
