'A' pillar guage intallation question

Trying to work out where the Ignition/constant power feeds are close to the Apillar. Should I wire them up from behind the stereo head unit or is there a better/closer way?

u should have a couple loose wires under the plastic steering column panel.
remove your steering column covers and there should be a couple loose wires there. test em. one of them is an ignition source

Look to the upper right of the fuse box cover in the driver' s foot-well. You don't have to remove the cover. There is a switched 12v plug. IIRC, it's a female spade socket (takes a male connector). For backlight source I used a vampire clamp to ash-tray light wire under the shifter panel in the console. Can't recall off-hand now where I sourced constant 12v. Be sure to fuse it.
Search for options on the 12v constant.

I know it's a completely different car, but when I did my Coolant and Tranny temp gauges I wired them to the Cig lighter power which is always on. That way when the car is cooling at the track I can look in my window and see where things are at without putting the key in. The minute amount of power they pull would never be enough to drain the battery either. Just a thought in case you like the idea.

I would imagine that would drain the battery if the car was left sitting for a week or so.
