I can double check what JOHNNY said, I think they would be more expensive now, usually thats like
a temperary contract MAZDA has with another
company, but after the car is gone usually the
special items and the contract are gone. SO if
you do ask for them, they maybe double or even
triple the cost.

Welll I got some slightly good news, no word on the seats, i refuse to believe that 7 g's is the lowest they will go for those things, i can get the swedes for 2500 a set easy!!!. the rz sticker i found too not hard or expensive, guess my only alternative is to contact bbs in georgia and see how far i can go wtih that, though i am pretty confident i can get some sort of deal, those rims look reallly really similair to the bbs wheels they put on the audi a6's with the upgraded wheel package. Anywayz ill continue to report on my findings.

congrats man (for like the millionth time) - i was never a big fan of black FDs or even mesh wheels for that matter, but you definitely have my vote for sexiest car in the forums... ive always wondered what id would be like to have a RHD car, too bad it costs so much to import cars to the US but owell... keep us posted! i think the only mod i would get for that car may be a 99 Spec front end, but then again, that would take away from it being a 96... i dont know, i love it

Rich,

I'm curious how your car is viewed in England, the home of so many great sportscars. Do many people know what it is? Have you ever seen another FD on the road over there? What's the reaction of other sportscar owners, say people who drive Lotus Elises, or TVR's? Why did you go to all the trouble of importing an FD instead of one of the other cars available in your country
(a number of which are not available here in the USA)?
No, not many people know what it is, that was one of the reasons I got one! I have seen a couple on the road, but not since I've had mine. I went to one of the few RX owners meetings just before I got it, there were about 100 7's, all different gens, and a JC Cosmo!! Mmmm!
I get plenty of looks from other sports car drivers, not sure whether they are good looks or scared looks!! The FD was already in the country when I decided I wanted one, the fact that it was in amazing condition, had a brand new rebuilt engine and was an RZ swung it for me really! Elises are a bit too basic for my liking and TVRs have a bad reliability reputation- worse than the FD! Both amazing cars to drive, but the looks and performance of the FD made sense to me!! I was also looking at Skylines (R33/32 GTR or R34 GTS for around the same price, but they seemed a bit too big for me.
Hope that helps?!

We have to have front plates over here but I would like to get a rectangular one rather than the square one, or maybe a small stick on one would be better!

The wheels and the seats are stock for the 96 RZ,yeah.
I don't know how much the wheels are worth, I think that all the RZ's came with BBS wheels though. I've been told that the seats cost £1500 each (kevlar), they do carbon fibre ones too that are supposed to be £1200 each. Don't know how much that is in $ but I'm sure you'll be able to work it out! As for whether you'll be able to get hold of them I don't know.
All those copiers out there- you'd also have to get the momo s/wheel and the bilstein shocks to be a full RZ replica! But I'm sure most of your cars look better anyway- theres so much stuff available to you lot- its not fair!!
