HKS is one of the best tuning manufacturers in Japan, and in the states for that matter. It's probably the biggest import tuning manufacturer in the world and seriously compete in all major racing events in Japan. These shocks are made to order and are very hard to get, to my knowledge, made only for tuning shops who have dedicated race teams. So obviously you have to have the hook-up. And another reason is I like having things that no one else has, just to be different.

Ditto that. I have heard some rumors that the HKS is a Not so good choice for tyhe FD.

That said I am not bagging on the HKS as I have NO first hand experience and as I said only "heard" they are not so good. This was on a road course car if I remember correctly. I don't know what type of driving/racing you do. I think it had something to do with the spring rate.?
But none the less they are very nice looking and I am sure a VAST improvment over the stock junk.Keep us updated as to how they feel and what type of driving you do. Thanks and again very nice!

DAMN!! Beat me to it on your reply!
And not to be a dick or anything but anyone with the $$ can get those.
And as you said they are made to order so the spring rate argument may hold no weight here at all.

Sorry dude, Like I said No harshness meant. When you mentioned it in your post it just kinda sounded like one of my customers(16) that thinks he has some **** that No one else could get. ( in his case it was a bleeder valve on his boost line on a 3k GT) Just thought it was kinda funny,..No hard feelings!

None taken. Alot of stuff on the forum can be taken out of context on account of the lack of verbal intonation. For example, that sounded really nerdy.

From my understand HKS is GOOD, but there are others out there that are better? TEIN for example , I mean if your going for uniqueness then nice cause they look good. Dare I ask how much they were?

Yes, if you're refering to the Hypermax II's.

Yes. These are very good shocks though. They run these shocks on some very tough and enduring races, N1, GT300 and 500, they can't be to bad.

I'm sure there are differences between the two shocks. I think for one the shock piston is thicker. They are 30-way adjustable.

Spring rate (lb/in) F/R
F=780 /R=780

Attenuation power piston speed 0.1m/sec attenuation power value N
F: Extension side / shrinkage side
4414/1401
(450/143)

R: Extension side / shrinkage side
3626/774
(370/79)

Setting height * F/R
F=-1.6"/R=-1.6"

Free length * F/R
F/R (L=7.9")

Oh man. Hope you don't wear dentures or a toupee. You'll lose those with the first bump you hit! That's $3K worth of shake, rattle, and roll you'll wished you never spent!

The Tein RA have 895lb of spring rate so you just need to drive around on those for a week and your HKS will feel "soft" then. I'm looking forward to hear more opinions on the HKS. Good luck with them.
