Talking Pics of my "new" FD

I've been dreaming about owning my own FD for years now. A couple of weeks ago I finally found one that I liked and fit my budget. Flew out to Memphis and drove it home. I was "inspired" by some of the pic posts of the other FD's here. So I went out and bought Meguir's 3 step system. I washed her, then spent a couple of hours cleaning the paint with Step 1. After I finished with Step 1, went looking for the Step 2 bottle. I couldn't see it anywhere. Then I looked in my hand, I had actually started with Step 2, so actually I spent all my time polishing the paint.... Oh well, I'll use something to strip off the wax next month and do it right. Sorry, about the "cloudy" images, it was kinda overcast today.

Oh, yeah, mods:
Street ported engine,
Downpipe,
Tokico Illimina shocks(I assume these aren't stock),
Veilside sideskirts(don't think I like them, I'll probably put them up for sale),

There's quite a few spots in the paint where it was chipped, painted, and it looks like a spot of clearcoat was "dolloped" onto the spot, she'll need a new paint job soon.

clean clean car...exept those nasty side skirts. You won't find many engine bays that look like that any more.

Cool. Looks like first things previous owner did was side skirts and the BOV (don't really need). Otherwise, congrats! Work on the relaibility stuff!

Thanks guys. Actually, I just ordered a boost gauge from Pettit, and the next thing I'll do is replace the AST. An aftermarket downpipe is already installed, off the top of my head, I can't think of any more reliability mods, except maybe the oil and temp gauges.

Doh, forgot in April of last year, when the engine was rebuilt, she got a new radiator and hoses.

yes... I just did mine last week, after waiting a year. I got flamed a lot for it! It's cheap and it's an easy way to increase your reliability. Do it QUICK!

I remember somebody sold an aluminum AST that looked like the stock one, anyone know who that is? I'd prefer a stock look, but will settle for just plan reliablity. Thanks!

LOL, I love the way everyone says "Good luck with the car". I guess if you're not careful, keeping the car running is like trying to win the lottery. I have yet to got WOT with the car, after I get the boost gauge installed, I'll test the boost pattern. I have a small oil leak I need to check out, but I've been keeping a careful check on the oil level via dipstick. And as soon as I can get sent to our corp HQ in Vienna, Va, I'm going to drop the car off at one of the rotary shops up there to get her checked out.

Don't let the hater's get you down about the sideskirts. In reality, they don't have one sharp angle on them like almost every other skirt out there. This flowing roundness is why they do actually flow great with the natural body lines.
